SBARU in Partnership with AutoAero 🚀
We’re proud to have teamed up with AutoAero, a specialist in custom product design and fabrication, led by industry professional Jim Grant. With over 30 years of manufacturing and production experience, Jim has worked with some of the biggest names in motorsport and performance automotive design, including HSV, PRODRIVE, and TransAm. His extensive background in, body design, aerodynamics, structural fab, OEM+ components, and motorsport-specific products means that we can offer truly cutting-edge modifications and race-ready solutions for your vehicle.
Jim’s expertise in custom fabrication allows us to deliver high-quality, performance-enhancing products tailored to your specific needs, whether you’re after aerodynamics knowledge or auxiliary enhancements that can take your vehicle to the next level. This collaboration means SBaru Parts & Performance is not just offering services, repairs and modifications — we’re providing an array of performance products and design innovations that you can trust on both the street and the track.
Introducing Performance Louvers
We have developed a selection of louvers for the GC/GF & GD/GG WRX/STI platform.
These are for placement on the bonnet, in an location you desire or to replace the intercooler scoop for those whom have front mount intercoolers. In addition there a louver options for the fenders of your vehicle.
These parts aren’t just cosmetic additions they’re functional! With testing done on our endurance racing GF8 Buccy. Contact the shop for more details.
Louver Technical Guide
- Lift Reduction: Both bonnet and fender louvers reduce the pressure build-up under the car, lowering lift and improving stability. Bonnet louvers release engine bay pressure, while fender louvers manage wheel arch pressures.
- Downforce Enhancement: By managing airflow, both sets of louvers help improve downforce. Bonnet louvers smooth airflow over the body, while fender louvers reduce turbulence, helping the car maintain tire grip during high-speed cornering.
- Laminar Flow Maintenance: Louvers on both the bonnet and fenders ensure smoother airflow, preventing separation and maintaining laminar flow, which reduces drag and enhances stability.
- Reduction in Tire-Induced Vortices: Fender louvers reduce vortices caused by rotating tires, and bonnet louvers help minimize vortex formation over the car’s upper body, leading to a more efficient aerodynamic profile.
- Cooling and Thermodynamics: Both sets of louvers improve cooling efficiency by expelling hot air from critical areas (engine bay, wheel arches, and brakes), preventing overheating of cooling systems/intake and maintaining optimal component temperatures for consistent performance.
Together, bonnet and fender louvers work in harmony to enhance the car’s aerodynamic stability, downforce, and thermal efficiency, ensuring optimal performance on the track.
